tic tac toe, you're fitting into place

Saturday, April 21, 2012

It turns out that I cannot study no matter how long or how wide I try to keep my eyes apart from each other. Not to mention the recent addiction I've had to the most useless things on the planet which include coding with CSS, XML, "duelling" in pottermore (which I never thought I would ever even log into) and look around in livejournal for icons I'm probably never going to use.

It also turns out, as is blatantly apparent from my background, that I was, am and always will be deeply in love with this template be it expand across livejournal, blogger and if I ever choose to dish $99, wordpress. I believe once a person falls and aligns with certain limitations and guidelines, its hard to shift their choices around to other things. The longer something stays with you, the fonder you get of it...maybe that's why my dad can't bear the thought of leaving the fourth-floor nest he built himself in commemoration of my yester-years. To be honest, I don't see what he sees. The again, as he would say if I ever questioned his logic:

"You're one-third my age, one-eighth of the way through the experience I have been and not even close to have the amount of memories I have"

To which I've always replied:

"Still. I'm one and half centimeters taller than you. Doesn't that give me some credit?"

Alas, no reply to that.

Oh, did I mention how much I love Hum Tum? I do not think I have emphasized, that even today - like 8 years later - I still find Saif's character just as endearing. I should do a whole review on that movie.

As for studying, nada. Zilch. Okay well, control systems doesn't exactly make me wanna jump from my seat but alas, you gotta do what you gotta do. It's hilarious how this realization comes to me at 4:06AM.

the contemporary of the classics

Monday, April 16, 2012

This friend (more like sister with almost the same last name) came up to me - in the recent happiness of her perfect trifecta of success, one of which includes getting hitched - and demanded a playlist that included instrumentals...soulful, ambience-filled music that awakens the "heart". Alright she didn't word it that way, but that's what I heard. And so began my quest of finding music that is classical indian/contemporary - only to come across some real gems. I never thought I would bank for pieces like this, but I think I'm newly in love with Nitin Sahwney, Anoushka Shankar and the sitar. Who would've thought this day would ever come?

Awake || Mungal ft. Nitin Sahwney

Breathing Light || Nitin Sawhney

Slither || Anoushka Shankar & Karsh Kale

Abyss || Karsh Kale & Anoushka Shankar

Taqasim-Rabee3 (Rendition)|| Farid Atrash

Now let's hope that it works out during the engagement. Else its going to my hair she's going to pluck. One by one.

Anticipation Jitters & Cuteness Overloaders

Monday, April 09, 2012

I will revert to the status quo of engineering students today and get to the point. To save your network the strain and extra data rates, I am warning you that I will be posting a shitload of youtube videos that are my favourites for this month.

Of course Bones is gonna be here and there, so please don't be surprised. I've been in love with Booth and Brennan for a good semester and a half.

I cannot wait for tonight's episode of Bones. I think it's quite obvious. Yeah..

[freaks out]

"...Or she could be just like you, you know brilliant & crazy about me." Okay, how cute and simultaneously cheeky is that?

I think I reincarnated and reached Nirvana (I'm sorry Buddha, you were a great man but I had to use your philosophy to prove a point). That's how cute this whole tableau was. And I'm talking about one frame in this entire video. You know all love stories should be like this. Cause its just so darn adorable. Except I wasn't too crazy about how the baby was born in a barn. I mean yeah, okay, Booth is catholic and his adherence to Jesus is reminiscent in his daughter's birth but honestly...I felt like I was watching the reenactment of Jesus's birth - only non-cliche part being that Christmas is now 6 months away instead of 6 days.

And because I love Bones so much, here's another one of Hodgin and Angela. I swear if I wasn't an engineering and didn't have fat legs, I'd totally be another Angela. But alas, not everybody can major in art and get a job like that and look hot all at the same time. But I'm willing to shoehorn myself in her position. More than gladly, actually.

Of course, I would totally not settle for a husband shorter than me, but if it keeps me as hot as Angela, I'm willing to strike off a few requirements off my bucket list.

Recently, I've been watching a lot of brown stuff (mostly sasural genda phool - which is by brown standards a pretty darn good show) I really, really LOVED the trailer for Ishaqzaade. The film looks pretty risque. Despite the actors having all their clothes on, I've never seen chemistry like this in Bollywood in like ... ever. I think they totally beat Shahrukh and Kajol a million times over.

Trust me, if I had Arjun Kapoor in my proximity I would be 'pareshaan' too.
